It’s a wonderful thing, being able to host your blog and/or web pages on Github. And I’ve found out (I think) how to make it work. Sometimes it takes a few goes and false starts, but we usually get there in the end.
What I want to do, and still haven’t discovered how, is to use my own domain name, www.godspell.org.uk, to access the blog at tonusp.github.io
So far all the different attempts to set up subdomains with my DNS name registrar, and CNAME records with Github pages, only get my old website showing on tonusp.github.io, and not vice versa. It doesn’t help that it takes up to 48 hours for changes to 1 and 1 settings to be applied. So I never know whether changes have worked, or would work if I waited two days.
